Update on my last post: Black Nose was killed by two dogs that came running through my yard. Considering that Black Nose and my dog Daisy were best friends, it's very likely that Black Nose may have gone up to the dogs to love on them, and then they snatched her. I'll spare you the entire story, but the tramatic ending is that she died in my arms and I watched her eyes glaze over and it took me over a week to get to where I wasn't crying so much. Now, my final thing to do is to file a vicious dog report with Animal Control, and get those dogs taken away. I found out on Tuesday, where they live. I really feel like it was God's timing. I had originally been thinking it was some other lady's dog that lives up the street. The dogs are owned by some Hispanic guy...he had them out in his front yard when I drove by on Tuesday, and he was using thin ropes as leashes. These dogs don't have collars on...they didn't the day that they killed Black Nose either. As soon as I saw them it just brought all of the emotions back from that horrible Friday, and I turned the van around to confront the guy. I told him that his dogs killed my cat, and he kept saying over and over again, in broken English, "No, my dogs don't kill cat...they don't kill my big cat in the house". The stupid man obviously didn't believe what I was telling him, and that just made me even madder. I even told him that I was thinking about filing a vicious dog report and told him VERY firmly that he better keep his dogs locked up because I don't want this happening again. After I drove away from there I just broke down emotionally and it was like I was back in the same day that Black Nose was killed. Luckily, it only lasted for about 10 minutes and then I went to my computer to look at the picture that I had taken of one of the dogs that killed her, and it WAS his dogs for sure. The fact that he doesn't believe me just makes me want to get those dogs taken away from him just that much more!!
I was going to go to Animal Control on Wednesday, but it was all rainy and I didn't feel up to doing the whole confrontational thing yet. Then I was going to go on Thursday, but it SNOWED!!! lol Most of the snow and ice is still out there, today, so I guess I won't be able to get this taken care of until AFTER Christmas. I will avenge Black Nose's death though...she deserves that and for all of the joy she brough to me the few months that I got to love her, I owe her that much too.
Okay, I better change the topic now...tearing up here...
So, Christmas is tomorrow, and we aren't really doing much...just hanging around the house :) A friend of mine gave me a turkey as a thank you for me watching her daughter on Thursday mornings. Actually, all she did was drop her off here around 7:10am, and then her daughter got on the bus with my kids. Easy as can be, but she still wanted to thank me...that was really sweet of her :) I started thawing the turkey a few days late, I think...it was Wednesday when I put it in the fridge, so I'm not so sure that it will be ready to bake tomorrow. If not, I'll just save it for a few days after Christmas :P
