GOOD NEWS!!!! The skin graft is still alive!! It doesn't look all that great though. I'm going to have to be VERY careful with it. It doesn't look the same as the other skin graft I have did either. This one is pretty blistery and actually reminds me a lot of the way it looked after my very first surgery back in May. It was all blistery and gross when my nurse cut the surgery dressings off of the ankle and then I found out two weeks later that the skin there had died. Soooo...when my plastic surgeon removed the dressings today and I saw the scary skin graft I just freaked. I started crying and totally freaking out on him. The poor guy and his nurse didn't know what to do!! It just brought back a lot of memories from the past few months of grossness I have seen my foot go through and I really thought that this patch of skin was a goner. After I calmed down the doctor proceeded to tell me that it actually looks really good and he thinks it will just get better and will totally heal. He then proceeded to make a lot of jokes about me freaking out and stuff. It was pretty funny... I had to remind him that I am in a drug induced state and that I might be PMSing. I go back next Friday for the normal check up time. Until then, I am keeping my foot elevated as usual.
Tim rented some movies for us today!! The kids are watching Timon and Pumba's Wild Adventures right now. He got the Star Wars 1: Phantom Menace too! Joshua was so excited when he saw that and wants to watch it right now. I would like to wait until it gets dark out though and maybe make some popcorn and let the kids have some Sprite. We'll see...
Well, time to make some sandwiches...later gators! :)
