July 30, 2001

Our weekend was so-so...it rained quite a bit so we never got to take the kiddos to the pool :( We did go out to eat at O'Charley's last night though! It was so nice to go out as a family :) I went ahead and wore the big air cast for going out. The smaller ankle brace/air cast really stretches out the shoe (as I mentioned before) and it looks too weird to wear out anywhere. Especially with a skirt... About 20 minutes before we were about to leave another family walked in and was seated right across from us. The mother had a broken right foot too! Tim was like "See, you're not the only one!" lol It actually did make me feel a bit better to see another mother on crutches. Not that I was happy for her that she broke her foot, but I do sometimes get in the mind set that I am the only mommy who is stuck with crutches and can't clean the house with ease. This lady had 3 kids! She's got it worse than me in a sense...but she also had a hard cast so she's not having to deal with some of the stuff I am. Ugh...broken bones suck. Okay, enough rambling about that. So we had a great time! The kids were really well behaved...they normally are when we are at a restaurant. Don't know how we got such great kids :) They played with their little kid menus and the orange crayon that they each received. Joshua practiced writing his name while Abigail drew pictures.

We watched The Wedding Planner this weekend. Personally, I liked it...I'm not too sure that Tim did though. He was pretty tired anyway. Stuff just isn't as much fun when you are exhausted ;) Anyway, I thought that Jennifer Lopez did a really great job! I've always been impressed with her acting skills. The movie has a really sweet ending too :)

Tim and I will be doing quite a bit of cleaning these next two weeks! Our friend Valerie from France is coming to stay with us for two weeks! For those of you who are wondering how we know someone from France, Tim's parents are missionaries there, and he lived there for 10 years himself. From age 8-18 :) We haven't been able to go and visit his parents there yet, but hopefully will someday!! Valerie is an old friend of Tim's. She used to go to the church that his parents lead :) She's only a year older than me and her birthday is the day after mine!! We got along instantly the first time I met her ;) So, we've been trying to think of fun things to do with her while she's here. Preferably things that don't require too much walking...I don't know how my foot will be at that time.

On August 7th we'll be attending the Brown Bag Concert starring LaRue and Forty Days: Scroll down to see :) I'm so jazzed because it's going to be held at the Mazda place that is just right down the road from us! Normally, it's over at Centennial Park in down town Nashville, and it takes a while to get there. This will be a lot easier on me and my foot :)

Guess what...it's only five more days until my birthday!!!! Yep...I'll be turning the big 26 on August 4th. Man, time really flies :( I can't believe that it's been 8 years since I graduated from high school! Ugh...how depressing :(

I've been browsing through John William Waterhouse's beautiful paintings a bit this morning. I've always loved his work. There are so many paintings that I'd love to play around with and make layouts of. I don't know what the copyright issues are for something like that though. John isn't exactly alive for me to ask permission of! I think I'll check with the Pixelitas and see what their opinion is :)
