January 06, 2001

Hmmm...well, it doesn't look like I've been posting here every other day like I thought I would! Life has been busy the past month or so though. Tim's parents arrived here December 14, 2000 and stayed with Sara for the first 9 days and then they moved into our house through January 2, 2000 :) We had a really great time with them! The kids especially enjoyed having actual grandparents around. They don't get to see ANY of their grandparents very often. Usually once a year so far. Faith and Hornby (Tim's parents) bought the kids a big Jeep Cherokee that they can actually drive around in! They loved it...especially Josh! He almost broke out in tears when he opened it! It was so amazing to see the kids both being thankful for everything they received. Josh was even excited about the clothes and underwear he received for his birthday! lol That's my boy ;)

So, what else did we do? Shopping, shopping and more shopping!! Sara, Faith and I went out shopping sooooo many times it seems! It was fun each time...tiring, but fun! The kids went with us most of the time and were very well behaved for the most part. Thank God for the double stroller! I finally got to see Hickory Hollow Mall too. It is the mall that is just six minutes from our house. I had been holding off on going so that Tim and I could see it together, but the sales came a'callin and I just had to go. It has some awesome stores! There is a Cracker Barrel store (like the restaurant, minus the food) that I picked up several new apple pieces in. For those of you who don't know this, I am decorating my kitchen in apples. I think I picked the right theme for the kitchen...there are apple decorations every where I go! And you know, I really don't care for eating apples and I'm not too sure WHY I picked the apple theme. I think it was because of a cross stitch pattern I finished recently (well, except for the backstitching). It is a really cute country apple picture.

Anyhoo, the only cultural kind of thing I did was visit The Grand Old Opry Hotel. Is that cultural?? I don't know...it was pretty cool though. We went at night so you couldn't see all that much. There were tons of plants and white Christmas lights everywhere. They all kind of blended together... The stores looked awesome, but we didn't get a chance to do any shopping. It was probably all really expensive anyway. We ate at a sports bar & grill place where the waiters did magic tricks for Josh & Abby!! They LOVED that!

The new house is wonderful and we are really enjoying the glorious view we have of the woods! I'd say that most of the stuff we actually use is unpacked. It mainly needs to be organized. We moved in on Dec. 16th with the help of Faith, Hornby and Sara! We already had most of the boxes moved over here so they helped us with the furniture and larger items. I'm so thankful that Hornby was here to help Tim move the big stuff. I was really not looking forward to helping him with that! Sara cleaned the apartment kitchen for me when the time came to prepare the place for inspection :) It really didn't take to long to get the place cleaned up. It was mainly scrubbing and vacuuming.

We now have cable modem!! Yeeeehawwwww!!!!! Well, it's on the gaming machine at least. Tim still needs to hook it up on the Internet/family pc. I've been gaming on line the past few nights! I've gotten on to play Unreal with tons of other people who are WAY better than me...can be embarassing, but still a blast! I figure I'm just an easy frag for the rest of the people on line so they have to let me play!! It's good practice for me at the same time :) I've got to get to where I can kick Tim's bootie!!! There are several guys at our church who play Quake and Unreal together and I am really looking forward to getting in on some LAN parties too!! Once life here has settled down we should be able to be more sociable...I hope.

Well, that's it for now. Happy New Year everyone!!
